Tips To Prevent Excessive Underarm Sweating

Excessive underarm sweating can be a very embarrassing condition to deal with. When a person is worried about whether or not they are leaving sweat marks on their clothes, they start to experience stress. The stress causes more sweating and it can be an endless cycle. Luckily, there are some things that you can do to reduce the amount of underarm sweat that shows through your clothing.

It all starts in the shower. You will need to be sure you are using deodorant soap. Every little bit helps. If it is specifically the underarm area that you are worried about, you do not need to worry about moisturizing soap for this area.

While you are in the shower or the bathtub, get rid of your underarm hair. There are some men who will not feel comfortable with complete hair removal. Although removing all of the hair is best, you should at the very least remove most of the hair from your armpits. Give the area a good trim. The reason for this is that hair holds moisture. When the moisture from your sweat is held in the hairs, it can accumulate and help to cause the wet spots in your clothing. Not only is this a problem for wetness, but the conditions caused by the trapped moisture create the perfect breeding ground for odor.

Once you are out of the shower, you should dry your armpits completely. Make sure to use clinical-strength deodorant soap. This is the strongest type of deodorant that you can get over-the-counter without a prescription. It is made specifically for people suffering from excessive underarm sweating. If you apply this type of deodorant a few times a day, you should notice a big difference.

If you are on your way to a specific event or a special occasion, wear light, breathable clothing. It is best to wear a light cotton tee on the way to the event and put on your dress shirt when you arrive. The breathable clothing and the fact that you wore a light tee to the event, make sure that air was able to circulate and keep you as dry as possible. Avoid materials such as heavy nylon and polyester. Air has to be able to get through the clothing.

Excessive underarm sweating can be a huge problem for those who suffer from it. But with a few preventative steps, you can prevent underarm wetness and enjoy life a bit more.
